Crash Decks in Hull and East Yorkshire

A crash deck is a scaffold structure designed to catch operatives or materials in the event of a fall from above — typically used below fragile roof sections, skylights and rooflights, or to protect workers and the public from falling objects on busy construction sites.

When crash decks are required

  • Below fragile roofing materials such as fibre cement, GRP or older asbestos cement sheets

  • Below skylights and rooflights during overhead maintenance works

  • As falling-object protection on occupied sites below overhead works

  • On industrial and commercial roofing projects involving fragile panels

Legal requirement

The Working at Height Regulations 2005 place a duty on those in control of work at height to take reasonable steps to prevent falls and to minimise the consequences if a fall does occur. Where a fragile surface exists, a crash deck or equivalent protection is typically required. Baxter Scaffolding can advise on the appropriate solution for your site.
